Kumo Asian Kitchen temporarily shut down after inspector finds over 150 dead roaches

A Japanese restaurant was forced to temporarily close its Altamonte Springs location after a food health inspector cited multiple violations.

Kumo Asian Kitchen, which is located at 767 SR 434, Ste 1040 in Altamonte Springs, was forced to temporarily close its doors on Tuesday, August 23 and again on Wednesday, August 24, after separate failed health inspections.

According to a report filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, during the first inspection on August 23, the inspector cited 8 health code violations, including 3 considered high priority.

Among the high priority violations was the presence of roach activity, as evidenced by at least a dozen live roaches and over 150 dead roaches found throughout the kitchen.

On the following day, the inspector returned and still found at least 30 dead roaches, as well as five live roaches crawling around various parts of the kitchen.

The restaurant was permitted to reopen on Thursday, August 25, after a third inspection revealed only two high priority violations.
