Express, main I-4 lanes temporarily shutdown after motorcyclist’s crash

A woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after crashing into the guard rails that separate the I-4 Express lanes from the mainlines of the highway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers are on the scene of a crash that occurred on I-4 eastbound in Orange County at 7:55 a.m. this morning.

Witnesses say a motorcycle, being driven by a woman, was weaving in and out of traffic eastbound, in the mainline of I-4.

The woman lost control after trying to avoid a slowing vehicle and struck the guardrail that separates the mainline and the express lanes, according to authorities.

Currently, the inside express lane is open and two lanes of the mainline remain open.

The entrance ramp from the mainline to the express lane is also closed for the investigation.

The female motorcyclist who was transported in critical condition has not been identified by authorities.
