Steve Erwin

Steve Erwin, 79, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away on October 19, 2022, of natural causes. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 13, 1943, son of Bill Erwin and Virginia Erwin.

Steve graduated from Eastmoor High School in 1961, earned a degree from Columbus College of Art & Design in 1965, and pursued a successful career as a commercial artist and illustrator. Steve was involved in creative endeavors throughout his life including painting, sculpting, writing, and photography.

Following his retirement and relocation to Winter Springs, he remained active in the Central Florida arts scene. Steve freely gave his time and talents to various civic and cultural organizations including The Kerouac Project of Orlando, The Lake Mary Museum, Orlando Downtown Arts District, The Orlando Fringe, St. Richard’s Winter Park Episcopal Church, Columbus Folk Music Society, Westerville Progressive Alliance, The Shamrock Club and various Irish-American groups.

Steve is survived by his wife, Marilyn Erwin, his son Robb (Brenda) Erwin, son Ryan (Brandi) Erwin, and daughter Corrie (Kevin) Wassum. He is also survived by two siblings, Tom (Ilona) Erwin and Jean (Robert) Toda, four grandchildren, and twelve nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Johnny Erwin.
