Michael A Peters

Michael A. Peters, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on October 30, 2022 at the age of 56 following a drowning accident. Mike was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, graduating from C. Leon King High School, and thereafter completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and the University of South Florida. Mike was a collegiate pitcher and played in the Cincinnati Reds farm system. He later achieved his law degree from Stetson University College of Law, graduating at the top of his class, and had a successful practice in Tampa and later in Orlando for many years.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kristi, his two children Josh Peters and Haleigh Riker (Philip), and family, including mother Sue Peters, mother in law Joy Decker, sister Deb Loyd (Chip), brother in law Scott Brown (Deborah) and nieces Ashley Loyd, Bailey Brown and Sidney Brown. Mike was predeceased in death by his father Anton Peters, nephew Alex Loyd and father in law Frank Decker.

Mike was an amazing father, husband, and friend to all that met him. Those that knew Mike and the details of his life are forever in awe of his steadfast positivity and wit.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Henry Chapel at First Baptist Orlando at 2 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022 (3000 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805), with a reception to follow at Faith Hall on the Church campus.
