Claudette Bernadette Richards

On November 18, 2022, our mother Claudette Bernadette Soucy-Richards was called home to the Lord after a brief illness. She received her wings and went to walk with angels. She was 83 years old.

Born December 18, 1938, in Salem, Massachusetts to Lorenzo J. Soucy and Clara Poirier-Soucy of Salem, Massachusetts. She was married over 64 years to her Loving Husband and Best Friend, Dean Richards of Orlando, Florida, formally of Salem MA and Milton NH.

Together, they raised five children. Claudette was an exceptional wife and mother, always putting others before herself. She was predeceased by her eldest child, Allan Richards in 2015 and 2 younger brothers, Russel Soucy and Paul Soucy. She is survived by her siblings, Sisters Arlyne Morrison and Doris Schuler and her brother Richard Pelletier and her other four children; Darlene Douglas of New Durham, New Hampshire, Donna McKinnon of Orlando, Florida, Donald Richards of Warwick, Rhode Island and Dean L Richards of Orlando, Florida.

Claudette was survived by her nine grandchildren: JD Douglas, Danny Boucher, Jessie Douglas, Connor Richards, Emily Richards, Ryan Richards, Abby Richards, Matthew Richards, and Emma Richards and predeceased by her grandson, David Paul Boucher of Lebanon, Maine in 2022. Her five great-grandchildren: Dylan Douglas, Beau Douglas, Austin Douglas, Irissa Boucher, and David Paul Jr. Boucher.

Claudette was a selfless lover of life and could light up any room she entered. She took up golf in her late 70’s and shot two (2) hole-in-ones at the young age of 80. She was very active in the community, loved to dance and most of all enjoyed life, family, and friends to their fullest.
