Saffron Indian Restaurant closes for three days after multiple failed health inspections

An Indian restaurant in Clermont was forced to close its doors for multiple days after failing three consecutive health inspections.

Saffron Indian Restaurant was forced to close its location at 16745 Cagan Crossings Boulevard from December 14 to December 16 after a health inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited dozens of health code violations.

During the first visit on December 14, the inspector cited at least 24 violations, including two considered high priority. Among those was the presence of roaches, as evidenced by at least 10 live roaches found in various places around the kitchen.

A follow-up inspection on December 15 generated the same number of violations. During that second visit, the inspector found six more live roaches and dozens of other violations.

During a third inspection on December 16, at least 12 violations remained, including another roach present in the kitchen.

The business was permitted to reopen on December 16 after a fourth inspection was conducted, despite 22 violations still remaining.
