Esther Louise Larsson

Esther was a beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was an only daughter to Harold c. Moretti and Dorothy Louise (Hoover) Moretti. She grew up in Passaic County NJ with her two brothers Richie and Donald. After graduating DePaul Highschool, she married my father George Larsson in 1959. They lived in Haskell NJ and had five children: Georgie, Brian, Cherie, Erik and Lance. At that time, she went to William Patterson College and specialized in Early Childhood Education. Esther and George moved to Hamburg NJ in 1973. They had 7 acres with horses, cows, chickens, and other various animals. She canned her own fruit and made outrageous desserts. There were many fruit trees and a very large garden. They wanted their children to eat healthy fresh food.

After graduating William Patterson College, she opened her first preschool Pompton Lakes Nursery School. She then opened Sussex Nursery School, The Hardyston Nursery School and Netcong Nursery School. After moving to Florida, she opened Sweetwater Oaks Nursery School. Her passion was in the education of young children which she did for 49 years. She was an excellent boss and mentor and always supported parents and children in the early childhood education process.

She had 14 grandchildren Amy, Ashley, Alyssa, Alexis, Charlie, Steven, Julia, Trent, Brooke, Jerrad, Tyler, Tiara, Lance and Mark. In 2007, their first great-grandchild Aurora was born. Now they have nine. Esther’s great- grandchildren are Aurora, Kira, Alyssa, Kolton, Tristan, Rowan, Ellis, Owen and Evan. Esther went to many football games, wrestling matches, choir practices and cheerleading practices for her kids and grandkids.

Family was important to Esther. She was a devoted wife and mother. She had a happy and blessed marriage for 57 years. There were dinners every night and big spreads for all the holiday celebrations. She loved all the children in her family. She was generous and extravagant when it came to restaurants, vacations, and time with her family. Being a social and fun-loving person she often went out with her best friends; Irene, Marilyn, Carolann, Rosemary, Linda and Phyllis. She enjoyed fine wine, Broadway shows, the shore, fine hotels, fine restaurants, and upscale retail stores.

Esther was a devout catholic raising her children in the Christian faith. There were many days of going to church then to the bakery for a donut or out to Sunday brunch. Whenever she was asked about her life she would always say she was blessed to have the life she did. Esther was a women of class and etiquette. She was a strong and independent woman right up until the day she passed.

Esther will be greatly missed by all of us. Her life teachings and love are now with her next generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be forever in our hearts and our daily prayers. She now joins her husband George, her son Georgie and her grandson baby Brian in eternal rest. We will miss her always.
