Ana De Jesus Goncalves

More than a memory but a piece of each person she adored, Ana de Jesus was selfless until the end. She was born in 1932 in Montalegre Portugal to Antonio Caetano and Maria Da Cunha. Her early life was completely impoverished, with little prospects nor a clear vision of the future. But these circumstances never plagued her mind but fueled her relentless desire to survive. Even though every odd was against her she managed to look beyond her very little resources and immigrate to a foreign land and raise two daughters alone. Ana was never formally educated so she had to rely on her limited knowledge of the world, her intuition, her eternal faith and the kindness of the Portuguese community in the small town of Bridgeport Connecticut. Ana always kept her loved ones within arms reach. To keep us close, to keep us fed, and to keep us protected from the dangers looming around every corner. This thorough grasp could be felt with every interaction, be it in person or on an endless voicemail. She reaped exactly what she sowed; a prevailed, connected, and beloved family that never left her side, from her last breath in life to her first step into the kingdom of heaven.
She is survived by her daughters Ana Alves and Diane Mckeever, her son-in laws Fernando Alves and Raymond Mckeever along with her daughter-in law Kristie Alves and grandchildren Joshua Alves, Leana Alves and Hana Mckeever and great grandchildren Naomi Alves and Levi Alves.
