Man found dead in Sanford apartment after gunshots heard by neighbors

A man was found dead in his apartment by local police after neighbors reported hearing gunshots in the area.

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 200 block of Petunia Terrace in the Vista Haven Apartments on Tuesday, November 22, at around 8:12 p.m. after residents reported hearing gunshots.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered multiple shell casings and blood on a walkway. Blood was also found on the door of one of the apartments.

Deputies forced their way into the locked apartment and found a man dead from gunshot wounds. The man’s identity has not been released to the public as of Thursday morning.

Detectives are investigating the case and are asking anyone with information about the suspect or suspects involved to contact the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office at 407-665-6650, or the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
