Ocoee Police Department hosting fishing with a cop

A local police department will host a fishing event for children and teens this weekend.

The Cast with a Cop event will be held on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bill Breeze Park, which is located at 125 N. Lakeshore Drive in Ocoee.

This free fishing event is for ages 5 to 15 and looks to strengthen the relationship between the city’s youth and police officers in a fun, family-friendly environment.

During the event, children will have the opportunity to meet local first responders, while officers and volunteers will help children with baiting hooks, reeling in fish, taking fish off the hooks and other activities.

The department will provide fishing equipment if needed, although a limited quantity is available. Closed-toe shoes are required, and guardians must be present.

For more information or to register for the event, visit the Cast with a Cop webpage.
