Robert Dale Burton

Robert Dale Burton age 89 from Altamonte Springs, FL he died Friday May 12, 2023. He was born on September 1, 1933 in Highlands, OH to the late Clifford and Alberta McGillivray Burton.
Bob grew up in Ohio and loved his childhood on the farm and his many adventures with cousins and friends. In 1952 he moved to Orlando FL with his mother and younger brother for her health reasons. This is where he met the love of his life Donna who was an identical twin. Bob joined the US Army and proudly served in Korea as a Mechanical inspector for the US Army. Upon returning to the US he married Donna in a double ceremony with her twin Doris and Marvin Logue in 1955.

Later he began a career with the local Culligan dealership in Orlando. “Bob” retired from Culligan International. He had the chance to travel the world and was the “Culligan Man”. He spent his career traveling around the world mostly doing reverse osmosis and water desalination for so many countries and islands. He met famous people, stayed on their property, and sometimes took mom on these adventures. He went to 6 of the 7 continents.

After retirement he enjoyed traveling all across the country with his wife Donna in their motorhome. He loved spending time with family, watching his grandchildren at various sporting events and church plays. He enjoyed woodworking and building birdhouses and wagons from barn wood. He also liked to work with plants and flowers in his yard.

He is preceded in death by his wife Donna Burket Burton of 64 ½ years. His parents, and several siblings.

He is survived by his daughter Susan (Ray) Gibbs, and son David (Melissa) Burton. A brother Jim (Barbara) Burton. Granddaughters, Hannah Hodsdon in San Antonio, TX, Ashley and Samantha Burton Altamonte Springs, FL. Great grands, Jessenia, Dasia and Christian Gibbs of Altamonte Springs, FL. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
