Masked suspect in armed bank robbery wanted by Altamonte Springs police

A masked suspect who entered a bank in Altamonte Springs and robbed it at gunpoint on Wednesday is being sought by local law enforcement authorities.

Altamonte Springs Police Department officers were called to the Truist Bank branch located at 888 W SR 436 in reference to an armed robbery on Wednesday, May 17, at around 2:48 p.m.

According to police, the suspect featured in this story entered the bank earlier that afternoon and passed a note to an employee demanding money and implying that he had a handgun and a bomb.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the bank in a red vehicle.

Witnesses describe the man as a skinny black male wearing all black clothing, a black mask, and black sunglasses.
