Reward doubled to find suspect who shot, killed 58-year-old father during I-4 road rage incident

The reward has doubled to $10,000 for any information that may help police find a suspect wanted for shooting and killing 58-year-old John-John Villafane during a road rage incident on I-4.

Villafane was riding as a passenger in a friend’s vehicle during the incident, which took place some time before 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5.

During their investigation, deputies learned that Villafane had been riding in a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on I-4, between Osceola Parkway and State Road 528, when he and the driver of his vehicle, who is not being named by authorities, became engaged in a verbal altercation with another driver.

According to police, the other driver was described as a “black male in a blue sedan,” with no other details provided.

The victims were not armed and the incident seems to be isolated, according to police.

After the two were shot at in their vehicle, the driver took Villafane to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

“Our homicide detectives have been working tirelessly on this case, but they still need your help to identify and arrest the driver who fatally shot Mr. Villafane on I-4 on July 5. No tip is too small, and you will never be asked to disclose your name” reads an OCSO press release.

Anyone with information may be eligible for up to a $10,000 rewards. Contact Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
