46-year-old pedestrian killed on Turkey Lake Road

A 46-year-old man who was crossing Turkey Lake Road was struck and killed by a pickup truck on Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place at 6:49 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, near the intersection of Turkey Lake Road and Seaberg Lane.

The man, who was from Orlando, was walking east across the southbound lane of Turkey Lake Road when he was struck by a 1997 Dodge Ram that was traveling southbound on the road.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified per FHP policy, was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident, according to FHP.

He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 52-year-old Orlando man, was not transported to the hospital and received minor injuries in the crash.
