SunPass reimburses $4.3 million to 361,000 frequent toll road users

SunPass reimbursed 361,000 drivers over $4.3 million as part of a new program that rewards those who use toll roads frequently.

The first toll credits from the SunPass Savings program were issued last week for the month of September, according to a press release from the Florida Department of Transportation.

During the month, approximately 361,000 drivers took advantage of the new program, which reimburses according to the number of trips an individual takes on a toll road.

The program provides customers who have made at least 40 paid transactions during a month with a 20% credit to their SunPass account. Customers with 80 or more paid transactions each month are eligible for a 25% credit.

“Toll facilities all over the country are raising toll prices, but Florida’s Turnpike is doing the opposite. We are proud to be rewarding our loyal customers with this savings program during this time of need,” said Nicola Liquori, Executive Director and CEO of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.

The program applies to two-axle vehicles and is available to customers who use SunPass or other Florida transponders with accounts in good standing.
