Vehicle sought in fatal hit-and-run in Altamonte Springs

The Altamonte Springs Police Department has provided updated information in an effort to identify and locate a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene earlier this year.

The fatal accident took place on September 26 between the hours of 12 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., near the intersection of East Altamonte Drive and Anchor Road, according to ASPD.

Authorities believe the man was possibly walking across State Road 436 when he was struck by a white vehicle traveling eastbound on SR 436.

Based on evidence from the scene, investigators believe the victim stepped out into traffic when he was struck by a white, 2016-2020 Kia Optima. That vehicle would have damage to the passenger side mirror and front passenger side headlight.

If anyone has any information concerning this fatal hit and run crash, please contact the Altamonte Springs Police Department at 407-339-2441.
